2. Overview & scope

Protecting your personal data matters to us. This policy explains which data we process while operating SplashSMP (website and Minecraft server), for what purpose and on what legal basis.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person.

3. Server log files

When you visit the website, information is automatically transmitted to our server and temporarily stored in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, and browser and operating system type.

This processing serves the technical delivery, stability and security of our services. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are automatically deleted after a short period.

4. Cookies, local storage & fonts

This website does not set any cookies and does not store any data in your browser's local storage. There is no tracking and no sharing for advertising purposes.

The fonts used are delivered from our own server; no connection is made to servers of Google or other font providers.

5. Player count display (mcsrvstat.us)

To show the current player count on the home page, your browser requests the server status directly from the external service mcsrvstat.us (api.mcsrvstat.us). For technical reasons, your IP address is transmitted to this provider; its privacy policy applies.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in displaying the current server status (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No other page of this website calls the service.

6. Minecraft server

When you play on the Minecraft server, we process the data required for this, for example your Minecraft name, your UUID, your IP address and gameplay data such as game progress, statistics and chat messages. This serves the operation of the game, security and the enforcement of our rulebook.

The legal basis is the provision of the game service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in safe and fair gameplay (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

7. Information for minors

Our service is also aimed at minors. Protecting their data is particularly important to us (Recital 38 GDPR).

Where we process data on the basis of consent, the consent of a legal guardian is required for children under the age of 16 (Art. 8 GDPR).

Legal guardians can contact us at de.arcanesmp@gmail.com at any time to request information about their child's stored data or its deletion.

8. Discord

We link to our Discord server. If you use Discord, Discord's privacy policy applies. On our Discord server, Discord user data (e.g. Discord ID and name) may be processed for administrative purposes.

9. Sharing with third parties

Your data is only shared with third parties where this is necessary to provide our services, where you have consented, or where we are legally obliged to do so.

10. Retention period

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention periods. Afterwards the data is deleted.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing (Art. 21).
